How is Activated Carbon Regenerated?

Spent activated carbon is recycled using thermal reactivation techniques, as shown in our new animated film. The contaminants are removed through high heat treatment, a scrubber removes toxic gas, and a thermal oxidiser incinerates organic compounds. The material is also resized, to ensure optimum pressure drop characteristics in the customer's application.

In the future, it may be possible for us to generate electricity from the use of the thermal oxidisers, further enhancing the environmental credentials of the reactivation process.
