Flue Gas Treatment

To comply with emission standards, flue gases produced by incinerators are treated with activated carbon to remove contaminants such as gaseous heavy metals and dioxins produced at levels above permissible limits.

The Filtracarb® FGT range of products is based on activated carbon manufactured from specially selected coal that is steam activated at high temperatures to create a product with a high pore volume, particularly suitable for the removal of dioxins and gaseous heavy metals. They are produced to ensure the highest and most economic overall performance, the broadest spectrum of adsorption characteristics and enhanced product performance. They are safe for bulk storage and handling, have large pore volume to maximise adsorption, demonstrate excellent heavy metal removal, can eliminate dioxin to more than 99.9 per cent, have excellent adsorption kinetics and ignition characteristics that meet Category St1. They are supplied to BS EN ISO 9001: 2008.
